Especially when it came to Calyrex, she couldn't remember a time when it hadn't confused her. And the bestowal of its shard only presented more mysteries than ever.

She'd expected the shard to behave much like the original Calyrex—or, well, at least the Calyrex that dwelt among them in Sootopolis. Arceus only knew how many iterations of Calyrex had existed through human or Pokemon history at this point. How many times it had died and reincarnated.

Yet, the shard—rather than acting as mysterious and elusive as a ghost as Sootopolis' Calyrex usually did with her, with occasional offerings of judgement and approval for her work—acted...curious. Inquisitive. Innocent, even. Like it didn't know or remember anything about the world or what it'd done here.

But how can that be? Aurelie wondered, over and over. Isn't it just a small part of Calyrex? Why wouldn't it know everything the "original" knows? And...what do I do with it?

She had no idea. But thankfully, she could think of a few scientists, far smarter and more knowledgeable than she was, who might have some ideas.

So it was that Aurelie found herself wandering into the depths of Rocket's now even-more-mobile sub and knocking on the door of the laboratory assigned to one Lulu Flint. They had met and chatted a while back in the Great Chasm, and Aurelie had always regretted not having any contact with her since. She hoped this would be a good time and way to reach out again.

Beside her, like a strange honor guard, were the Calyrex shard and her Magearna from the Mechanical Kingdom. They seemed to have become fast friends, bonding over their interest and newness to the world of Hoenn.

Alas, because laboratories and home-cooked food didn't mix together well, the redhead had decided reluctantly against trying to bribe Lulu with a Kalosian dish. She'd just have to hope the Head Scientist's desire to help and interest in the King Pokemon were intriguing enough.

"Hello? Dr. Flint?" Aurelie called tentatively, wondering if she dared peek inside the laboratory. "I'm hoping to have just a few moments of your time. Can I ask for you to share what you know about Legendary Pokemon and shards, by any chance?"
